Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Simhastha, held in Ujjain every 12 years, is an important event for the state and the nation. The state government has started preparations for Simhastha and will undertake construction of numerous facilities for devotees and tourists coming to Simhastha. These will include upgrading current facilities and ensuring arrangements for accommodation, food and traffic in Ujjain. Government departments and other undertakings should work together to complete all these works in co-ordination. Along with the development of road and rail transport facilities, air traffic should also be given priority and included in the long-term plan. In the meeting, many important works including making Indore-Ujjain road six lane, Indore-Ujjain alternative four lane road (distance 49 km) were discussed.
