Siddaramaiah: No objection to ED action if within legal framework

Bengaluru, June 11 (Reporter) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday responded to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on Congress MP E Tukaram and MLAs, saying his government has no objection to any action taken within the legal framework. “It’s not about what we are doing — the point is simple: let them do whatever they want, as long as it is within the framework of the law. If it is done legally, we have no objection. All we are saying is that the process must follow legal procedures. If there has been any violation of the law, we do not support it. We will not obstruct or interfere with any lawful implementation,” Siddaramaiah told reporters. On the issue of the caste resurvey in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah clarified that the party High Command had received complaints related to the process. “The original survey was conducted 25 years ago — it should have been done around 9 years ago. In this case, a fresh survey was carried out in a short span of 60 to 70 days, and only the enumeration was completed, not the full report. The report has not been rejected in its entirety. In principle, the report has been accepted, but only the enumeration part is not,” he stated.
