Bengaluru, April 9 (Reporter) Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has urged the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to name stands at Chinnaswamy Stadium here after three prominent cricketers from the state. In a letter addressed to KSCA President A Raghuram Bhat, the Chief Minister requested naming the stands after GR Vishwanath, EAS Prasanna, and BS Chandrasekhar. Siddaramaiah emphasized that honouring these cricketing legends in such a manner would inspire and motivate budding cricketers in the state. "I request you to consider naming the stands after GR Vishwanath, EAS Prasanna and BS Chandrasekhar, which will inspire and encourage the upcoming cricketers of the state," he said. He highlighted the absence of similar tributes at Chinnaswamy Stadium, despite other major cricket venues in India having stands named after notable players from their respective regions. The Chief Minister's proposal was prompted by a letter from left-wing writer Ramachandra Guha dated March 29, where Guha advocated for the naming of stands at Chinnaswamy Stadium after the three celebrated cricketers, recognising their significant contributions to the game both on and off the field...////...
