Srinagar, Mar 8 (Reporter) The State Investigation Agency (SIA), of Jammu and Kashmir Police filed a charge sheet against a social media user, accused of spreading secessionist ideology.
The charge sheet was produced before the Designated Special Court Budgam under National Investigation Agency (NIA) Act on Friday against the accused for the commission of a crime under sections 153-A of IPC, section 13 of unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and section 02 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act for judicial determination.
Police said the case pertained to the publishing of anti-national, secessionist, and pro-terrorist content on social media.
The case was registered on information that a social handle “Lacterated Kashmir ” is publishing content on Twitter that is secessionist and anti-India in nature; and promotes terrorism in J&K.
Accordingly, a formal case was registered and the accused was identified as Irfan-ul-Haq of Kawoosa Khalisa of Budgam District and was arrested on October 18,2022.
“During extensive technical investigation, SIA identified the Twitter handler as Irfan. The accused had created multiple Twitter accounts under pseudonyms to conceal his identity from Law Enforcement Agencies. SIA successfully identified Twitter handles like Lacerated Kashmir, The Resistance Kashmir, Maimed Kashmir, and Wounded Kashmir which were being operated by the accused person to spread secessionist ideology, promote terrorism, and downplay lawful administrative regime, he has also shown disrespect to the Indian National Flag through his twitter posts,” police said...////...
