Kolkata, Feb 5 (Reporter) Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailing 'Nari Shakti' during a reply to the motion of thanks on the President's address in Lok Sabha, West Bengal Minister of Women and Child Development Shashi Panja on Monday described it as "hollow rhetoric". Taking a jibe at Modi, Panja said, "PM, your hollow rhetoric on 'Nari Shakti' in the Lok Sabha is a cruel joke. When our women wrestlers were dragged and harassed in the national capital, Amit Malviya's IT Cell sheltered the perpetrators of the IIT-BHU rape case, and the BJP government in Gujarat shamelessly released the rapists of Bilkis Bano." "Your party leaders spewed misogynistic remarks about India's only woman CM," she commented, saying, "Your government has no contribution to 'Nari Shakti' whatsoever; your actions scream utter disrespect to the women of our country." Earlier in Lok Sabha, hailing 'Nari Shakti', Prime Minister Modi said that in the past ten years, the BJP government has worked for women's empowerment. In every sector, women are excelling.
