Several trains & flights delayed as thick fog engulfs Delhi- NCR

New Delhi, Jan 16 (Reporter) As the thick layer of fog engulfed the Delhi NCR, the air and land traffic have been affected, leading to several hours delay of flights and trains. According to Indian Railways, over 30 trains bound to Delhi have been delayed with the maximum number of hours being more than six. As per the Northern Railways, five trains arrived in Delhi more than six hours delay, namely Bubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Howrah-New Delhi Duronto Express, Ajmer-Katra Pooja Express, Puri-Nizamuddin Purushottam Express, and Hyderabad-New Delhi Express. Due to dense Foggy conditions, the air traffic at Indira Gandhi International Airport also impacted severely. As many as 30 flights departing from Delhi's Indira Gandhi Internation Airport were delayed and another 17 flights were cancelled. The Delhi airport issued an advisory in this regard that stated, "Low visibility procedures are in progress at Delhi airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information." As per IMD, the minimum temperature on Tuesday recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average. For the past four days, the minimum temperature has been hovering around 3 to 4 degrees Celsius, and the cold wave conditions are likely to continue till Wednesday, according to IMD...////...
