Sensex tumble down over 400 points

Mumbai, Apr 12 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex on Friday nosedived 409.17 points at 74628.98 in the opening session on profit booking by local operators. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 94.70 points to 22,659.10. The NSE registered days high and low at 22726.45 and 22624.85 points, respectively. Touching the 75K level on Wednesday, the stock market opened in red today as selling was seen in FMCG, Financial Services, and Bankex stocks. Thursday was a holiday for Id-ul-Fitr. The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 74951.88 and 74539.09 points, respectively. The mid cap rose by 0.81 pc and the small cap by 0.11 pc. In 30 scrips, 8 advanced, while 22 declined. The losers were Sun Pharma by 2.69 pc to Rs 1560.80, Titan by 1.91 pc to Rs 3638, JSW Steel by 1.90 pc to Rs 867.05 and Asian Paints by 1.73 pc to Rs 2846. The gainers were Tata Motors by 0.96 pc to Rs 1022.85, Nestle India Ltd by 0.83 pc to Rs 2547.75, NTPC by 0.74 pc to Rs 365.85 and TCS by 0.55 pc to Rs 4004.80...////...
