Mumbai, Jan 24 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday improved 169 points to 70,539.85 in early trade as buying was seen across the board. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 60.80 points to 21,299.60. The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 70,611.79 and 70,001 points respectively. The Nifty recorded intraday highs and lows at 21,316.60 and 21,137.20 points, respectively. The Mid Cap rose by 0.84 pc and the Small Cap by 1.03 pc. In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined. The gainers were SBI by 1.97 p.c. to Rs 616.95, IndusInd Bank by 1.74 p.c. to Rs 1469.05, Tata Steel by 1.19 p.c. to Rs 131.65, and Infosys by 1.11 p.c. to Rs 1660.35. The losers were Axis Bank by 3.04 pc to be 1055.85, Asian Paints by 1.78 pc to be 3003.50, TCS by 0.83 pc to be 3830, and M&M by 0.52 pc to be 1585.40...////...
