Mumbai, Dec 19 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex continued to slide for the fourth consecutive session on Thursday, slumping 1153 pts to open at 79,029.03 on weak global peers.
The US stocks tumbled down after the US Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 25 basis points for the third time in a row.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 263 pts to 23,935.85.
All the stocks and scrips were opened in red.
The Sensex registered an intraday high at 79,516.17 and a low at 79,020.08 pts.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,004.40 pts and by 23,870.30 pts, respectively.
In stocks that slid were commodities by 1.42 pc, metals by 1.80 pc, and industrials by 1.25 pc.
The mid cap fell 0.96 pc and Small cap by 0.99 pc.
All 30 scrips were in red.
The losers were Asian Paints by 2.93 pc to Rs 2277, Bajaj Finserv by 2.31 pc to Rs 1593.10, Bajaj Finance by 2.08 pc to Rs 6826, Tata Steel by 1.97 pc to Rs 141.65 and JSW Steel by 1.91 pc to Rs 928.95...////...
