Mumbai, Oct UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday surged 591.69 pts to close at 81,973.05 on positive Asian Market. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 163.70 pts at 25,127.50. The Sensex opened positive at 81,576.93, rising 195 pts. It was rallied 691 pts at 82,072.17, days high before closing at 81,973.05, advancing 591.69 pts from its previous close. The NSE registered days high and low at 25,159.75 and 25,017.50 pts respectively. The stocks that lifted the market were Realty by 1.53 pc followed by Bankex by 1.03 pc, IT by 1.01 pc and Technology and Financial services by 0.88 pc each. The Mid cap rose 0.28 pc and Small cap by 0.06 pc. In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined. The gainers were Tech Mahindra by 2.93 pc to Rs 1694, HDFC Bank by 2.29 pc to Rs 1688.05, L& T by 1.89 pc to Rs 3548.95, ITC by 1.78 pc to Rs 497.15 and Infosys by 1.68 pc to Rs 1967.50. The losers were Maruti Suzuki by 1.81 pc to Rs 12543.75, Tata Steel by 1.49 pc to Rs 158.30, Bajaj Finance by 1.18 pc to Rs 7214 and Ultracemco by 0.67 pc to Rs 11345.10.
