Mumbai, Sep 19 (Reporter)The BSE Sensex on Thursday jumped 236.58 pts to close at 83,184.80 as Federal Reserve reduced rate cut by 50 bps for the first time in four years. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange ( NSE) rise 38.25 pts at 25,415.80. Sliding 131 pts on Wednesday, the equity market opened strong at 83,359.17, up 411 pts. Throughout the day, it was spurted 825 pts at 83,773.61 pts, days high and all life time high, before closing at 83,184.80, still up 236.57 pts from its last close. The NSE registered days high and low at 25,611.95 and 24,376.05 pts respectively. The stocks that glittered were Consumer Durable by 0.64 pc, FMCG by 0.40 pc, IT dragged the market by 3 pc, Technology by 2.43 pc, Bankex by 0.46 pc Realty by 0.47 pc. The Mid cap fell 0.53 pc and Small cap by 1.06 pc. In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined. The gainers were NTPC by 2.48 pc to Rs 424.10, Nestle India Ltd by 1.98 pc to Rs 2646.05, Titan by 1.86 pc to Rs 3793, Kotak Bank by 1.60 pc to Rs 1868.40 and Maruti Suzuki by 1.45 pc to Rs 12,377.40. The losers were HCL Technology by 1.44 pc to Rs 1730.45, TCS by 1.33 pc to Rs 4289, Adani Ports by 1.30 pc to Rs 1410 and L& T by 1.12 pc to Rs 3688. Asian Market was up as Strait Times was up by 1.12 followed by Hang Seng by 1.96 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 1.65 pc...////...
