Sensex improves 80 pts

Mumbai, Feb 9 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex on Friday rose 80 pts at 71,508.98 in opening session as buying was seen in FMCG and Consumer Durable stocks. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 11.80 pts at 21,729.75. Tumbling down over 700 pts on Thursday, the equity market was seen improved in early trade. The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 71,640.98 and 71,200.31 pts respectively. The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 21,780.50 and 21,664.75 pts respectively. The Mid Cap fell 0.87 pc and Small Cap by 1.13 pc. In 30 scrips, 15 advanced, 14 declined while one remained unchanged. The gainers were Bajaj Finance by 0.94 pc to Rs 6639.60, ICICI Bank by 0.80 pc to Rs 997.50, Reliance Industries by 0.73 pc to Rs 2923.30 and SBI by 0.59 pc to Rs 703.55. The losers were M& M by 1.48 pc to Rs 1642.40, Bharti Airtel by 1.30 pc to Rs 1127.80, Tata Steel by 1.11 pc to Rs 1421 and JSW Steel by 0.89 pc to Rs 815...////...
