Sensex falls 47 points

Mumbai, June 20 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex on Thursday opened weak at 77,772.89, easing 47.99 points on profit booking by local operators. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 12.20 points to 23,461.23. The equity market, which was on top in the last four sessions, was seen as weak as selling was seen in FMCG, health care, and technology stocks. The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 77,588.31 and 77,194.01 points, respectively. The NSE registered days high and low at 23,587.70 and 23,461.75 points, respectively. The midcap rose by 0.28 pc and the small cap by 0.57 pc. In 30 scrips, 12 advanced while 18 declined. The losers were Sun Pharma by 1.56 pc to Rs 1480.65, Powergrid by 1.33 pc to Rs 323.30, Bajaj Finance by 1.06 pc to Rs 7156, and Bajaj Finserv by 1.03 pc to Rs 7157.85. The gainers were Kotak Bank by 1.95 percent to Rs 1782.40, Tata Motors by 0.90 percent to Rs 986.25, Ultrasemco by 0.72 percent to Rs 11069.30, and Maruti Suzuki by 0.52 percent to Rs 12300...////...
