Mumbai, Sept 24 (Reporter) Snapping a winning streak of last three sessions, the BSE Sensex ended negative at 84,914.94, easing 14.57 pts on profit booking by local operators despite strong Asian Market.
However, the Nifty of National Stock Exchange ( NSE) ended flat at 25,940.40, rising 1.35 pts.
Though, the equity market breached 85K level for the first time in early trade it erased earlier gains
and finished negative.
The BSE sensex opened at 84,860.73, sliding 68 pts. It was surged 235 pts at 85,163.23, days high.
During the day it was dropped 212 pts at 84,716.07, days low.
Finally, was ended at 84,914.04, easing 14.47 pts from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 26,011.55 and 25,886.85 pts respectively.
The stocks that fell were Telecommunications by 0.57 pc, BSE services by 0.45 and Realty by 0.32 pc.
The Mid cap rose 0.21 pc while Small cap declined 0.04 pc.
In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined.
The losers were Hind Unilever by 2.46 pc to Rs 2953.30, Ultracemco by 1.54 pc to Rs 11786.75, IndusInd Bank by 1.16 pc to Rs 1448.40 and Kotak Bank by 1.13 pc to Rs 1916.70.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 4.32 pc to Rs 160.60, Powergrid by 2.70 pc to Rs 350.25, Tech Mahindra by 1.88 pc to Rs 1638 and HCL Technology by 1.49 pc to Rs 1778.25.
In Asian market, Hang Seng was up 3.97 pc, Taiwan Weighted by 0.65 pc and Kospi by 1.13 pc...////...
