Sensex drops 400 pts

Mumbai, Feb 21 (Reporter) The equity market remained under pressure for the fourth consecutive session on Friday as the Sensex tanked 492 pts at 75,243.87 in the opening session on weak global cues. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 135.55 pts at 22,777.60. The Sensex registered an intraday high and low at 75,748.72 and 75,200.09 pts, respectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 22,921 and 22,733.30 pts respectively. The mid-cap declined by 0.78 pc and Small cap by 0.39 pc. In 30 scrips, 9 advanced while 21 declined. The losers were M&M by 5.69 pc to Rs 2678.80, Ultracemco by 2.31 pc to Rs 11019.90, Tata Motors by 2.02 pc to Rs 675.95 and ICICI Bank by 1.70 pc to Rs 1229. The gainers were NTPC by 0.92 pc to Rs 328.15, Tata Steel by 0.54 pc to Rs 138.75, TCS by 0.50 pc to Rs 3796.70 and L&T by 0.47 pc to Rs 3290.75...////...
