Sensex down 239.31 pts

Mumbai, May 28 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday dropped another 239.31 pts to close at 81,312.32 amid mixed trend in Asian Market. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 73.75 pts at 24,752.45. The NSE registered days high at 24,864.25 and days low at 24,737.05. With this, the BSE Sensex crashed 843 pts in two straight sessions. No major oscillation was witnessed during the session. Slumping over 600 pts in the previous session, the BSE Sensex opened at 81,457.61, falling 94 pts. During the day it was lost 307 pts at 81,244.02, days low, before closing at 81,312.32, declining 239.31 pts from its previous close. In stocks FMCG, Commodities, Consumer Discretionary Goods and services and Metal kept the market low for another session. FMCG dropped by 1.33 pc followed by Metal by 0.69 pc, Commodities by 0.52 pc and Consumer Discretionary Goods and services by 0.51 pc. The Mid cap fell 0.22 pc while Small cap rose by 0.50 pc. In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined. The losers were ITC Ltd by 3.16 pc to Rs 420.20, IndusInd Bank by 2.01 pc to Rs 804.55, Nestle India Ltd by 1.84 pc to Rs 2417 and Ultracemco by 1.75 pc to Rs 11220.95. The gainers were Bajaj Finance by 0.99 pc to Rs 9263.90, Bharti Airtel by 0.68 pc to Rs 1854.70, NTPC by 0.41 pc to Rs 340 and Adani Ports by 0.41 pc to Rs 1410.15. In global markets, European market was down, while US market was up. A mixed trend was seen in Asian Market as Strait Times rose by 0.40 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 0.10 pc while Hang Seng fell by 0.53 pc...////...
