Mumbai, Aug 6 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex fell further 166.33 points on Tuesday to settle at 78,593.07 as selling pressure was seen in telecommunications, financial services, and consumer durable stocks. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 63.05 points to 23,992.55. With yesterday's loss of over 2000 pts, the equity market bounced back. 222 points to open at 78,981.97. It surged 1093 points to 79,852.08 days high. In late trade, it erased earlier gains and finished negative at 78,593.07, sliding 166.33 points from its last close. The stocks that fell further were Telecommunications by 1.25 pc, Financial Services by 1.07 pc, and Consumer Durable by 0.99 pc. The midcap declined by 0.85 pc and the small cap by 0.31 pc. In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined. The losers were Bharti Airtel by 1.44 pc to Rs 1444.85, M&M by 1.32 pc to Rs 2643.50, SBI by 1.28 pc to Rs 800.75, HDFC Bank by 0.75 pc to Rs 1603, and Titan by 0.72 pc to Rs 3349.90. The gainers were JSW Steel by 2.32 pc to Rs 883.60, Tech Mahindra by 1.63 pc to Rs 1480, L&T by 1.62 pc to Rs 3585.05, and Hind Unilever by 1.55 pc. to Rs 2758.05. In the Asian market, Strait Times fell by 1.45 p.c. and Hang Seng by 0.31 p.c...////...
