Mumbai, Jan 17 (Reporter) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday tanked 848 pts at 72,280.35 in early trade as selling was sent across the board amid weak Asian Market. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 242.95 pts at 21,789.35. The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 72,484.80 and 71,757.24 pts respectively. The Nifty recorded intra days high and low at 21,851.80 and 21,639.95 pts respectively. The Mid Cap fell 0.52 pc and Small Cap by 0.25: pc. In 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined. The losers were HDFC Bank by 5.76 pc to Rs 1582.30, Tata Steel by 2.15 pc to Rs 134.30, Axis Bank by 1.83 pc to Rs 1098.55 and Kotak Bank by 1.72 pc to Rs 1815.90. The gainers were TCS by 1.11 pc to Rs 3904.20, L& T by 0.70 pc to Rs 3698.95 and HCL Technology by 0.57 pc to Rs 1564.10...////...
