Mumbai, Aug 5 (Reporter) The bloodbath was seen on the Dalal Street on Monday, with BSE Sensex tanked 2222.55 pts to close at 78,759.40 due to recession fears in the US, and escalating tensions in the Middle East. Even, unwinding of Yen carry trades too impacted to the market. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 662.10 pts at 24,055.60. The day was started on a weak note as the Sensex slumped 2393 pts at 78,588.19. During the day it was plummeted 2686 pts at 78,295, days low, before closing at 78,759.40, dropping 2222.55 pts from its previous close. Geopolitical tension in Middle East. Concern of US recession were held responsible to the crisis today. Stocks that crashed were Capital Goods by 4.13 pc, Realty by 4.25 pc, Utilities by 4.30 pc. The Mid Cap slipped 3.60 pc and Small Cap fell by 4.21 pc. The losers were Tata Motors by 7.32 pc to Rs 1016.65, Adani Ports by 5.93 pc to Rs 1493.65, Tata Steel by 5.31 pc to Rs 149.80, SBI by 4.34 pc to Rs 811.10 and Powergrid by 4.19 pc to Rs 343. The gainers were Hind Unilever by 0.83 pc to Rs 2715.90 and Nestle India Ltd by 0.75 pc to Rs 2513. The Asian Market was also badly hit as Strait Times by 4.25 pc, Hang Seng fell by 1.48 pc, Taiwan Weighted by 9.11 pc, Kospi by 9.61 pc...////...
