Sensex at peak at 80,351.64 pts

Mumbai, July 9 (Reporter) Snapping a losing streak of the last three sessions, the BSE Sensex closed on Tuesday at 80,351.64, a new high, jumping 391.26 following gains in reality, auto, and consumer discretionary goods and services amid a positive Asian market. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 112.65 points to 24,433.20. The sensex opened at 80,107.21, rising 147 pts. During the day, it spiked 437 points at 80,397.17 days high before closing at 80,351.64, surging 391.26 points from its last close. The stocks that lifted the market were Auto by 2.17 pc, Realty by 1.23 pc, and Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services by 1.21 pc. The NSE registered days high and low at 24,443.60 and 23,331.90 pts, respectively. In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined. The mid cap moved up 0.36 pc and the small cap by 0.22 pc. The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 6.60 pc to Rs 12820.20, M&M by 2.51 pc to Rs 2921.50, ITC by 2.09 pc to Rs 452.75, Sun Pharma by 1.97 pc to Rs 1586.30, and Titan by 1.96 pc to Rs 3215.55. The losers were Reliance Industries by 0.69 pc to Rs 3180.15, Kotak Bank by 0.61 pc to Rs 1840.70, Bajaj Finance by 0.44 pc to Rs 7065.80, and JSW Steel by 0.39 pc to Rs 935.
