Senior CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjaan passes away

Lucknow, May 3 (Reporter) Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Atul Kumar Anjaan passed away after prolonged illness at a private hospital in Lucknow on Friday. He was 69. Party sources said Anjaan was battling with cancer for a long time and was admitted to a private hospital for the last one month. Anjaan was serving as national secretary of the CPI for a long time.Besides, he served as the national general secretary of All India Kisan Sabha. He started his career as student leader and was elected as the president of the Lucknow University Students Union from where he rose to prominence. Paying tribute to CPI leader on X, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Singh wrote, "I am shocked by the demise of Atul Kumar Anjan ji. He was a brave and dedicated public servant.
