Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is committed to the economic and social upliftment of women. He emphasized that self-help groups form the backbone of the rural economy and their empowerment is crucial not only for strengthening the role of women but also for ensuring the overall development of the state. He directed officials to provide maximum support and necessary resources to self-help groups, enabling them to become financially strong, self-reliant, and progress towards prosperity. Dr. Yadav made these remarks during an important meeting held on Thursday at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister’s residence) regarding the strengthening and empowerment of self-help groups. Currently, 5,03,145 self-help groups have been established across Madhya Pradesh under the Women and Child Development Department and the Panchayat and Rural Development Department (MP State Rural Livelihood Mission). These groups include 62,30,192 women members, who are benefiting from various livelihood development schemes initiated by the government.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has instructed officials to take effective steps to connect self-help groups with the market, provide necessary training, and ensure financial assistance. He also emphasized the need to explore new opportunities for increasing the income of these groups and called for the preparation of a concrete action plan to make them self-reliant.

The meeting was attended by Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, and Labor Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Women and Child Development Minister Sushri Nirmala Bhuria, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Deepali Rastogi, Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, Commissioner of Women and Child Development Smt. Sufia Farooqui Wali, CEO of M.P. State Rural Livelihood Mission Smt. Harshika Singh, along with senior officials from other related departments.
