Dhaka, July 18 (Reporter) With the aim to maintain law and order amid a shutdown called on Thursday by quota reform protesters, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 229 platoons across the country, including Dhaka, media reports said. The protesting students on Wednesday called for a nationwide "complete shutdown" on Thursday in protest against law enforcement's actions on various campuses, The Daily Star reported. According to media, Asif Mahmud, one of the organisers of the movement seeking reform in government jobs, made the announcement through a Facebook post. He shared the post with journalists later.
