New Delhi, Dec 2 (Reporter) The Supreme Court on Monday set aside a notice sent by the Income Tax Department against spiritual organisation Radha Soami Satsang Beas for reassessment proceedings. A bench comprising Justice JB Pardiwla and Justice R Mahadevan was hearing an appeal filed by the organisation against a Punjab & Haryana High Court order denying relief. The High Court had, in May 2022, dismissed the plea of the Satsang Beas saying they should explore alternative statutory remedies. The Radha Soami Satsang Beas then approached the Supreme Court. Advocate Ekakshra Mahajan Mandhar appeared for the Satsang Beas. The top court had in December 2022 sought the response of the Income Tax Department (ITD) in the matter.
