Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, the state government conducted a 90-day ‘Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan’ from March 30 to June 30, 2025. This statewide campaign witnessed extraordinary public participation, with local citizens actively contributing to water conservation efforts. Over 2, 30,740 ‘Jaldoots’ (Water Volunteers) registered to help preserve rivers, water sources and water structures.
The campaign achieved remarkable success by meeting its targets. A total of 84,726 farm ponds, 1, 04, 276 recharge pits and 1, 283 Amrit Sarovars were constructed in Madhya Pradesh. Notably, Khandwa district ranked number one in the country among water-conserving districts, and Madhya Pradesh secured the fourth position among all Indian states.
The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the exhibition ‘Sadanira’ in the Central Hall of the State Assembly. The exhibition showcases the key achievements of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan. CM Dr. Yadav performed Deep-Prajjawalan to inaugurate the exhibition. On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh and Leader of Opposition Shri Umang Singhar were also present.
