Ludhiana, May 17 (Reporter) Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal on Friday ridiculed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his claim that Amit Shah would become the Prime Minister in September next year, saying the AAP chief either had a "secret understanding" with the BJP or was admitting the defeat of the INDIA bloc in the Lok Sabha polls.
In a statement here, Grewal said it seemed Kejriwal had access and prior information about important developments in BJP. “Otherwise it makes no sense that Amit Shah will become the Prime Minister when the INDIA bloc claims that it was winning the election”, he remarked.
“If it (NDIA bloc) is really forming the government at the centre after 2024 General Elections, why will Modi need to retire as he will not be the PM at the first instance”, Grewal said, highlighting the contradiction in
Kejirwal’s statement. “(It seems) Kejriwal has some understanding with the BJP that makes him privy to some important information”, he added.
Grewal observed that Kejriwal’s "confusing and contradictory" statements were either being deliberately made to create confusion at the behest of the BJP or it was an "involuntary" admission on the part of the INDIA bloc that they have already lost the election and Modi was becoming PM now and he would retire in September 2025, after turning 75 and make way for Shah as the Prime Minister.
He said, there was no logic in such things unless Kejriwal’s purpose was to create confusion among the opponent's ranks...////...
