Srinagar, June 26 (Reporter) The District Administration of Srinagar and civil society is ready to welcome Amarnath Yatris with enthusiasm and affection amid foolproof security arrangements in place, an official spokesman said. “All arrangements have been put in place for the seamless pilgrimage of Amarnath Yatra," the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar, Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, said after visiting the Transit Camp for pilgrims at Pantha Chowk today. The 52-day-annual Amarnath yatra will commence from June 29 from the twin routes of Kashmir Valley, with unprecedented security arrangements in place. The DC said that foolproof security measures have been made by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar along with other security agencies to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra. In order to give a final touch to the preparations to host Shri Amarnathji Yatries at Pantha Chowk Transit Camp for their temporary stay during their journey, the DC, accompanied by officers, visited the Transit Camp to ensure all arrangements have been fully managed. During his visit, the DC inspected elaborative arrangements with respect to accommodation, bedding, electricity, drinking water, sanitation, and langar facilities at the venue. DC Bilal maintained that the accommodation capacity of the Camp has been upgraded manifold, and about five thousand yatris at a time can be provided accommodation in view of expected surge in devotees. The DC added that to make the stay of Yatries comfortable, all the necessary arrangements, including drinking water, electricity, langar, toilets, and sanitation facilities, have been made well in advance...////...
