RD tableau: Govt comes up with three-year roll-over plan

New Delhi Jan 19 (Reporter) To ensure equitable participation and to address the concerns of some States and Union Territories over the non-inclusion of their tableau, the government has come up with a three-year roll-over plan. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane said that Ministry of Defence has devised a unique three-year roll-over plan, which ensures equitable participation on a rotational basis of all states and Union Territories over a period of three years. He said that if a state misses, then they can definately come the next year. This way all states and Union Territories will get representation once in three years. Like every year, this year too the tableaux have been selected by an expert committee comprising eminent persons in the fields of art, culture, painting, sculpture, music, architecture, choreography etc. It may be mentioned that a major political row erupted when tableaux from states including Punjab, West Bengal and Karnataka were not selected. This year, 25 tableaux from 16 States and Union Territories and nine Ministries/Departments will be seen at the Kartavya Path during the parade. The states are Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana...////...
