Lucknow, May 27 (Reporter) Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Jitesh Sharma won the toss and elected to field first against Lucknow Super Giants in a crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium here on Tuesday.
RCB is hying for top-two finish in the league stage.
“We will field first. Looks like a good wicket, we'll fancy our chances chasing,” said Jitesh. “Rajat Patidar is our impact player today. We’re looking to win this one and secure a spot in the top-two. Tim David misses out, Liam (Livingstone) comes in, and Thushara replaces (Lungi) Ngidi, who has left the squad.”
LSG captain Rishabh Pant, unfazed by the toss outcome, said his team is ready to give their all regardless of the conditions.
“We don’t mind batting or bowling first,” Pant remarked. “We did show a glimpse of our potential in the last game, but every match is a learning curve. Till the last ball is bowled, we will give our 100 percent.”
Pant also confirmed a couple of changes to the Capitals’ XI, stating, “Breetzke is in and Digvesh Rathi is back in the side.”
