Chandigarh, Apr 20 (Reporter) West Indian allrounder Romario Shepherd was drafted into the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) playing XI in place of Liam Livingstone as the visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first against Punjab Kings in Match 37 of the IPL 2025 at the Yadvindra Singh International Stadium here on Sunday. RCB skipper Rajat Patidar said the decision to field was made keeping in mind the nature of the surface. "Wicket looks decent, won’t change much. Batting second will give more clarity about the game and the wicket," he said. On the team change, Patidar confirmed, "Shepherd comes in for Livi. We’re not looking at venues, just trying to play good cricket." Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer said he too would have liked to bowl first but remained confident of adapting to the challenge. "At the end of the day you always have to adapt according to the situation. It’s the first afternoon game for us. Hopefully we get a good total on the board," he stated. Iyer also lauded the passionate local crowd, recalling the outstanding support during their previous home fixture. Punjab have named an unchanged XI for the contest. Both teams are eyeing crucial points as the tournament enters its mid-season phase...////...
