Jaipur, April 26 (Reporter) Over 40 percent voter turnout was recorded in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan until 1 p.m. on Friday.
According to the Election Department, 40.39 percent of voting was recorded until 1 p.m. in the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of the second phase.
The highest voter turnout of 47.48 percent was recorded in the Barmer Lok Sabha constituency.
Similarly, 46.53 percent of voters in Banswara, 44.20 percent in Jhalawar-Baran, 42.51 percent in Kota, 41.47 percent in Jalore, 41.32 percent in Udaipur, 40.50 percent in Chittadaigarh, 39.90 percent in Jodhpur, 37.01 percent in Bhilwara, 36.88 percent in Rajsamand, 36.59 percent in Pali, 35.77 percent in Ajmer, and 34.64 percent in Tonk-Sawai Madhopur have used their franchise.
Polling began at 7 a.m., and voters started coming out of their homes to cast their votes, and voting gradually picked up. Earlier, 11.78 percent of votes were recorded in the first two hours of polling and 26.84 percent until 11 a.m.
Polling is going on peacefully, and there is a lot of enthusiasm among the people. No untoward news has been received from anywhere...////...
