Rajasthan: Diya Kumari launches 'Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan' in Ajmer division

Beawar, June 5 (Reporter) Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari launched the 'Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan' in Ajmer division on the occasion of World Environment Day and Ganga Dussehra on Thursday. In her capacity as the in-charge Minister for Beawar, Diya Kumari inaugurated the campaign from the Beawar District Collectorate. She highlighted that water conservation is not an option but a necessity in Rajasthan. To address the challenges of climate change and depleting groundwater levels, she stressed the need for a large-scale campaign with public participation. Praising Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma's initiative to make water conservation a people's movement, she said the campaign will run across the state from June 5 to June 20. She added that the 'Vande Ganga' campaign will bring a new revolution of green consciousness and water conservation in Rajasthan. The deputy CM urged citizens to save water and secure the future, highlighting that every drop counts and every citizen has a responsibility. During the programme, eco-friendly bags made by local resident Kartikeya Devda as an alternative to plastic were showcased. Diya Kumari appreciated this startup as a significant initiative towards environmental protection and assured state government support. She also planted trees to spread the message of greenery and appealed to citizens to take a pledge for taking part in a big way in tree plantation and water conservation.
