Kanpur, Sept 28 (Reporter) Day 2 of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh has been delayed due to persistent rain, creating a frustrating start for players and fans. Overnight showers forced umpires to call for an early lunch break, further hampering the day’s proceedings. On Day 1, an hour-long postponement of the toss and bad light limited play to just 35 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first, taking advantage of the soft wicket conditions. Indian bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, faced resilient resistance from Bangladesh's openers. However, it was Akash Deep who made the crucial breakthrough, dismissing both openers. A solid partnership of over 50 runs between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque appeared to stabilise Bangladesh's innings. Just before bad light halted play, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin trapped Mominul, leaving Bangladesh at 107/3 at stumps. As Day 2 begins, Indian players, including Virat Kohli, gathered on the balcony, sharing light conversation while awaiting updates, while the Bangladesh team remained in the dressing room, closely monitoring the situation. With a gloomy forecast hanging over Kanpur, both teams and their supporters remain hopeful for a break in the weather, eager to salvage the day and bring some excitement back to the Test match...////...
