Patna, Apr 07 (Reporter) Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday demanded for national-level caste census and abrogation of the fifty percent upper limit of reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes(STs), Backwards and other deprived in government services. Gandhi, while addressing a conference on " save the constitution " here, said that participation of people belonging to SCs, STs, Extremely Backward Classes(EBCs), Backward Classes(BCs), and other deprived classes in top private companies was negligible even though they were not visible in the list of beneficiaries of loans being given by banks for launching their ventures, he pointed out. " All wealth of the country is in pockets of top ten to fifteen billionaire and corporate houses and none of them is from SCs, STs, EBCs, Backward Classes(BCs) and other deprived ", Congress leader pointed out and said that government of his party in Telangana had conducted caste census and these startling realities came to fore in its report. Caste census was like a social X-ray and it did not create any trouble in the society as being advocated by those opposing it, he pointed out. If X-ray was done to find out any ailment, but it did not harm the body at all, and the same was the case of social social X-ray with society, he stated while proving his point for caste census without creating any trouble. " Caste census is an exercise which must be carried out at the national level to know the exact condition of all those who lag in tasting the fruits of development, Gandhi said, and demanded that caste census be conducted to bring forward those who lag. He also advocated for the immediate abrogation of the provision of a fifty percent upper limit for reservations in government services, saying it was a fake wall.
