Chandigarh, Mar 7 (Reporter) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has apprehended a rclerk Rajwinder Singh, posted in Civil Surgeon Office, Pathankot for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 35000.
A VB spokesperson said the clerk has been arrested on an online complaint lodged by Satnam Singh of Onkar Nagar, Pathankot on the Chief Minister Anti Corruption Action Line.
The complainant alleged that the clerk had obtained a bribe of Rs 35,000 from him in lieu of passing his medical bills amounting to Rs 3,13,486.
He informed that during investigation of the complaint it was proved that the clerk had taken the bribe and forged a sanction letter issued by Director Health and Family Welfare, Punjab. It was also found that during his tenure he had forged 16 sanction letters and caused loss of lakhs of rupees to the state exchequer.
A case has been registered at VB police station Amritsar range.
The accused would be produced in the competent court on Friday...////...
