Punjab: Three booked under anti-dowry act

Phagwara, Feb 4 (Reporter) Police have registered a case against a man and two others including his mother under the anti-dowry Act following a complaint lodged by his wife and father-in-law in Punjab's Kapurthala district. The complaint was lodged by Kiranjot Kaur and her father Gurdev Pal of village Rihana Jattan, under Rawalpindi police station, against her husband Bhupinder Kailey. The others named in the complaint are Bhupinder's brother Dimple and mother Narinder Kaur of village Mannawali on the charges of torturing Kiranjot physically and mentally to fulfil their demands of more dowry. Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said the police are investigating the matter in detail. No arrest has been made so far...////...
