Punjab medical officers plan stir from Sep 9

Hoshiarpur (Punjab), Aug 26 (Reporter) The Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA), has announced an indefinite suspension of services across all public healthcare facilities from September 9 over their demands of assured career progressions and pending 6th Central Pay Commission (CPC) arrears, among others, the Association said on Monday. President of PCMSA, Dr Akhil Sarin, stated that the association has expressed optimism over the government's decision to recruit 400 regular PCMS medical officers (MOs) after a gap of four years. However, it has urged the government to ensure annual recruitment drives to replace the annual attrition. PCMSA has also expressed skepticism over the government's assurance to provide adequate security at all 24x7 centers in the state by the end of this month.
