Punjab : Ludhiana West bypolls on June 19

Chandigarh, May 25 (Reporter) The by-poll to the Ludhiana-West Assembly constituency in Punjab will be held on June 19, according to the Election Commission of India. As per the schedule announced by the ECI, nominations are to be filed from Monday, May 26 to June 2. Scrutiny of the nominations will be done on the next day -June 3. The last date for the withdrawal of candidatire is June 5. The polling will be on June 19. The votes will be counted on June 23. The bypoll has beennecessitated by the untimely death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi after being hit by a bullet that got fired accidentally from his pistol on January 11. AAP has fielded Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora while Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal have nominated Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Parupkar Singh Ghuman. BJP is yet to announce its candidate...////...
