Chandigarh, Mar 27 (Reporter) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Thursday arrested Vikas Kumar, Quality Control Manager with the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Patiala while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50000.
A VB spokesperson said the accused has been arrested based on a complaint lodged by a rice mill owner from Bhunarheri, in Patiala district.
He said the complainant approached the VB alleging that Kumar has been demanding Rs one lakh in lieu of facilitating the storage of rice shelled from the paddy purchased by Markfed.
In this regard, a case has been registered at the VB Police Station, Patiala Range. He would be produced before the competent court tomorrow and further investigation was under progress, he said...////...
