Chandigarh, Nov 19 (Reporter) Jalandhar Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday apologised for his alleged derogatory comments against women during a recent rally in Gidderbaha. The Punjab Women Commission had sent a notice to Channi and sought his explanation over his comments by appearing in person. The MP said that he had shared a joke, yet if he has hurt anyone's sentiments, he was apologising with folded hands. The Former Punjab CM said that women vote for him, he has won many elections with women's votes so he could not think of insulting them. Still, if anybody has felt offended, he would like to apologise. He had made the alleged comments while campaigning for Congress candidate Amrita Warring in Gidderbaha. Targeting BJP and AAP, he had shared a joke, which the leaders of both the parties had termed in a poor taste and derogatory to women.
