Chandigarh, Mar 31 (Reporter) The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Punjab, Sibin C, visited the Chandigarh Press Club on Sunday in conjunction with the annual election of office bearers of the Chandigarh Press Club. During his visit, he lauded the club for conducting a thorough democratic process for the election of its office-bearers. On this occasion, Sibin C emphasized the pivotal role of the press in ensuring transparency Free and fair elections. He called upon the members of the press to act as the eyes and ears of the Election Commission, thus ensuring the comprehensive implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) across Punjab. Additionally, he urged the press to assist in increasing awareness among the citizens about the ‘C-Vigil’ application for reporting any MCC violation.
