Punjab: Centre should start talks with farmers, says Jakhar

Chandigarh, Dec 2 (Reporter) BJP Punjab unit President Sunil Jakhar on Monday said the central government should start talks with farmers who have been agitating since February over their demand for a law guaranteeing a Minimum Support Price (MSP) and fulfilling of other promises made to them when they called off the agitation over farm laws in 2021. Jakhar, in a post on X said the central government has always had a clear vision for the betterment of the farmers. After the massive looting of the farmers of Punjab by the Aam Aadmi Party government during the paddy sale, they were looking towards the centre with hope because the leaders of the Akali Dal and the Congress were busy saving their existence. He said the press conference of the farmers' organisations on Sunday also indicated that they want to resolve their issues through talks.
