Promote Use of Solar Energy in Narmada Valley Projects: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised that the Narmada River is the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh. He said that the activities carried out under the Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA) have significantly increased the state’s irrigation coverage and power generation capacity, thereby improving the standard of living for citizens. He directed that the use of solar energy should be actively promoted in the irrigation systems developed under the Narmada Valley projects. Using solar power for water lifting operations would reduce expenditure on electricity. Farmers should also be encouraged to adopt solar energy for irrigation. He further stressed the need to ensure the maximum and optimal use of Maa Narmada’s water for the welfare of the state.

The Chief Minister was speaking while chairing the 267th meeting of the Narmada Valley Development Authority held on Wednesday at Samatva Bhavan, Chief Minister’s Residence. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Shri Manish Rastogi, and other officials of the Authority were present.

During the NVDA meeting chaired by CM Dr. Yadav revised administrative approvals were discussed and reviewed for Shaheed Elap Singh Micro Lift Irrigation Project (Harda district), Sendhwa Micro Lift Irrigation Project (Barwani district), Niwali Lift Irrigation Project (Barwani district), Dhar Lift Micro Irrigation Project, Ma Rewa Lift Irrigation Project (Dewas district), Technical aspects of the under-construction Sleemanabad Tunnel.
