Paris, June 12 (Reporter) Prominent French singer and actress Francoise Hardy has passed away at the age of 80, her son, singer and guitarist Thomas Dutronc, has said on social media.
"Mom is gone," Dutronc said on Tuesday and posted a photo with young Hardy.
French broadcaster BFMTV reported on Tuesday, citing Hardy's relatives, that she had been fighting lymphoma for many years, and in 2019, she announced that she had been diagnosed with a new cancer. Hardy announced in 2024 that she would never be able to sing again.
The French singer rose to prominence in the early 1960s as a leading figure in the iconic and timeless ye-ye style of pop music, the report said.
Hardy is best known for such compositions as Tous les garçons et les filles, Le temps de l'amour, Message personnel, and Voilà...////...
