Jerusalem, Dec 21 (Reporter) An unsuccessful interception of a projectile flying from Yemen has resulted in several people being injured in the area of Tel Aviv, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said on Saturday.
"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in central Israel, one projectile launched from Yemen was identified and unsuccessful interception attempts were made," the statement read on Telegram.
The IDF also stated that a fallen projectile had been identified in the area of Tel Aviv, adding that some lightly wounded people had been relocated to receive medical treatment.
The Times of Israel reported later in the day, citing medical staff, that 16 people had been injured by shattered glass, while 14 had been bruised while rushing to shelters.
On Friday, the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis), which governs northern Yemen, threatened Israel with a proportionate response to any of its attacks.
