Proceedings of UP assembly will be heard in regional languages

Lucknow, Feb 17 (Reporter) The 18th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh has taken a unique initiative before the budget session in which now the proceedings of the House can be heard in Hindi as well as Awadhi, Braj, Bhojpuri, Bundeli, and English languages. Speaker Satish Mahana said that this is the first experiment of its kind in any assembly of the country, which aims to connect the common citizens of the state, especially the people of the rural areas, more with the democratic process. He said that UP is a vast and diverse state, where different regions have their specific dialects and languages. "In such a situation, the Legislative Assembly of the state needed to establish maximum connection with its people," he said. Mahana said that Hindi is our official language, but it is also necessary to promote regional languages. "This will not only give freedom of expression to the public representatives in their mother tongue, but common citizens will also be able to listen to the proceedings of the Assembly in their language," he said. He said that the efforts being made by the UP Assembly under the support and guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are being adopted by other assemblies across the country. "This initiative is an important step towards strengthening democracy further, which will make the dialogue between public representatives and common citizens more effective and smooth," he said. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the new entrance of the Assembly and unveiled murals. These murals depict the overall development of UP. Women empowerment, cultural and spiritual advancement, industrial expansion, and social harmony have been beautifully engraved through these paintings.
