Bengaluru, Apr 14 (Reporter) Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Monday dismissed media reports of divisions within the state cabinet over the recently submitted caste survey report, clarifying that no minister had raised objections and emphasised the need for a scientific and informed public discourse.
"There are no differences within the cabinet on the caste survey," Kharge said, addressing the media. "None of my colleagues have protested or raised concerns about it. The caste survey is part of our manifesto. If people think it’s not scientific, there are ways to address it. But why jump to conclusions without knowing what’s in it?"
Kharge pointed out that the report had reached the government only two days ago and that he and his cabinet colleagues had not yet had the chance to examine it in detail. "We do not know what’s in the report yet. If anyone has concerns or reservations, they are welcome to express them," he said.
He urged critics and the public to refrain from making premature judgments. "It is not just the workers or anyone else; this should be open for public debate. If something seems unscientific, let them point it out. But it is not correct to jump to conclusions without fully understanding the content," he added.
