Bhubaneswar, July 9 (Reporter) President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha on July 14 and 15 to attend several official functions, official sources said here today.
On July 14 evening, the President will attend the fifth Convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar. The following morning, July 15, she will grace the 13th annual Convocation of Ravenshaw University, Cuttack.
Later that day, Ms Murmu will lay the foundation stone for the upgradation work of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School in Cuttack.
In the afternoon, the President will visit Sarala Bhavan, located at Biju Patnaik Chhak, Tulsipur, Cuttack, where she will garland the statue of Adikabi Sarala Das.
The President will also attend the 600th birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das, organised by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad, as the Chief Guest.
During the event, she will present the "Kalinga Ratna Award – 2024".
The President is scheduled to return to New Delhi on the evening of July 15.
A preparatory meeting regarding the President’s visit was held today, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The meeting discussed security arrangements, contingency planning for road travel, and emergency medical and healthcare provisions.
Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahu, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, and secretaries of various departments attended the meeting...////...
