Bengaluru, July 5 (Reporter) In a bid to contain growing factionalism within the Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Union Minister Pralhad Joshi held a series of closed-door meetings with rival party leaders and their supporters from Bagalkot and Davanagere districts.
Party sources today said Joshi interacted separately with followers of former MLA Veeranna Charantimath and MLC PH Poojar- two prominent leaders at loggerheads in Bagalkot- seeking to address their grievances and broker peace ahead of key electoral preparations.
Both groups reportedly placed their concerns and objections before the Union Minister, who promised to convey them to the state and central party leadership. Joshi's visit is seen as a high-level intervention aimed at streamlining BJP’s organisational strength at the grassroots level.
Continuing his efforts in Davanagere on Friday, Joshi met former ministers MP Renukacharya and SA Ravindranath, as well as former MLA Madal Virupakshappa. The discussions focused on reviving the party in the district and addressing dissatisfaction among local leaders.
Speaking to reporters before his meeting with Joshi, Renukacharya clarified that his recent remarks were not aimed at the party but at certain individuals who had spoken against prominent BJP figures. Dismissing allegations of anti-party activity, he reiterated his loyalty to the organisation and the leadership.
Joshi’s outreach is being seen as part of a wider attempt by the central BJP leadership to resolve internal differences, energise the cadre, and prepare the party machinery for the upcoming civic and assembly elections in Karnataka...////...
