Patna, Jan 26 (Reporter) Amid swirling rumours regarding Bihar's Chief Minister and JD(U) National President Nitish Kumar potentially severing ties with the RJD for joining NDA and even after the clearcut indications from the BJP too for keeping it's doors open for him, the confusion in the state politics still persists as Kumar was still keeping his cards close to his chest.
Amid speculations of the possible change in the guard of Bihar, Nitish Kumar was maintaining mysterious silence on the issue even after the RJD MP Manoj Jha and Congress MLC Premchand Mishra asked him to clear his stand by Friday evening.
Meanwhile hectic parleys of JDU and RJD continued separately throughout the day in which both the parties discussed their future strategies.
The JD(U) again convened its legislators party meeting in the morning of January 28, prior to which the other political parties including RJD, Congress and BJP have also convened their party meetings on Saturday to discuss the situation.
Meanwhile RJD senior leader Shivanand Tiwari categorically stated that Nitish Kumar would not cross over again towards BJP if he had any self respect.
Tiwari had sought time from Nitish to meet him but as of now there is no response from the Chief Minister's residence.
If Nitish Kumar crosses over to NDA this would be the fourth time he would be switching sides.
The statement of BJP MP and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi who stated that doors are never closed "permanently" in politics gave ample indications for the possible entry of Nitish Kumar into NDA.
He said that the state unit of BJP would accept the decision of its Central leadership and maintained that possibilities are always there in the politics.
Meanwhile BJP MLA Gyanendra Singh Gyanu who happened to be a close aide of Nitish Kumar was confident that the change was certain and it is a matter of a day or two.
BJP has already taken a decision and Nitish Kumar is also ready to join NDA which will win 40 seats in Bihar, he quipped and added that Bihar may again have an NDA alliance.
Earlier in the high tea arranged on the occasion of Republic Day function by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar this evening, Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav was conspicuous by his absence in the event in which Nitish Kumar was seen exchanging pleasantries with the BJP leader Vijay Sinha and Jitan Ram Manjhi of Hindustani Awam Morcha.
As it is the turmoil began with the tweet of RJD president Lalu Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya indirectly targeting Nitish Kumar. However a few hours later Rohini Aacharya deleted all the three posts.
Prior to this, the Chief Minister while addressing a function organised on the occasion of birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur here on January 24 had raised fingers at the dynasty culture in politics and openly spoke against promoting family members in politics by some of the political parties.
Meanwhile BJP held a high level meeting in Delhi under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and attended by BJP National president JP Nadda, BJP Bihar president Samrat Chaudhary, party general secretary of Bihar BJP Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Vijay Sinha, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi and several other prominent leaders of the state.
Soon after the meeting, Union Minister of state for Home Nityanand Rai air dashed to Patna on Friday evening and held a meeting with Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAM.
Addressing media persons after his meeting with Manjhi, Rai dubbed him as his uncle and maintained that they meet often on regular basis. He however tried to avoid the political queries of media persons.
On the issue of RJD offering plum post of Deputy Chief Minister to the son of Jitan Ram Manjhi the latter along with his son expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that his party would contest the Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections along with Modi.
The statement of Manjhi has shattered the hopes of RJD who is trying hard to get Manjhi in its fold to retain the government in case of Nitish Kumar crossing over towards NDA.
Meanwhile Nitish Kumar has cancelled all of his programmes slated for January 28 and has also postponed his proposed tour of Jharkhand in the first week of February.
The CM has also refused to join the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Purnia.
The sudden decisions of Nitish Kumar give ample indications that all is not well in the grand alliance.
During the Republic Day function at the historical Gandhi Maidan, Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejasvi Prasad Yadav did not interact with each other and were seen sitting quite apart.
Later Tejasvi Yadav also avoided the hi-tea of the Governor in which the Building Construction Minister and a Senior JDU leader Ashok Chaudhary, a close confidant of Nitish Kumar, was seen sitting on the reserved chair of Tejaswi Prasad Yadav...////...
